#MetsMonday  The hashtag that represents awareness for Metastatic disease, otherwise known as stage 4.  I am writing this on Thursday, but you might be reading this on Tuesday, Sunday, Friday or other. In the meantime, women (and men) with Mets (Metastatic breastcancer) have to live with cancer every day. As Lou Reed so perfectly put it, “The sword of Damocles hangs over your head”. Metastatic disease doesn’t go away and it is so far incurable.

So little of the millions earned for breast cancer research makes it to metastatic research. A Boeing 757 holds approximately 184 passengers. Imagine if FOUR (4) of theses planes crashed in the United States this week alone. That would be 736 lives tragically lost… That’s 125 LESS than we will loose to Metastatic Breast Cancer this week.

This is unacceptable.

Today is October 1st. The beginning of Breast Cancer awareness month. If you are to share anything today for breast cancer awareness… this is the information that people are not hearing, seeing or sharing.

My beautiful friend pictured here is on one of those “planes” hoping praying along with her family and friends that her plane will stay in the air for as long as possible. She is fighting so hard to stay with us for as long as possible along with many other of our Grace Goddesses that you have seen represented in these powerful images.

Let’s do more for stage 4.
